Welcome to 'After the Ring', a Lord of the Rings rpg. Please be sure to read the rules before you do anything else, as it will prove very important. Here, you can be an elf, man, half-elf, dwarf, or hobbit. You can be of various skills, such as an archer, warrior, healer, or etc. You can own a whole country if only you step forward and take the throne. After all, this is Middle-Earth, and every country needs a king. Will it be you?

All of the Kingdoms have high positions available for the takings, excluding Mirkwood which has a king. RPers are needed for Aragorn and Arwen, the king and queen of Gondor. Until we get more members, there will not be a plotline, so it is just a free-for-all for now. Claim territory before your chance is gone!

General
*No God-moding. (Controlling what others do.)
*Respect and listen to all admins.
*If you do happen to argue with another member, take it to pms.
*Never EVER impersonate another member. Not in the c-box, not in roleplay.
*No double posting (that's where you post, and then post again so there's two of your posts in a row). There's a modify button. Use it instead of double posting.
*Please keep all things personal in pm's. No one wants to read something that they don't understand because it's a private joke.
*One account per person.

Character Creating
*Characters from the movies/books can be made, but you must have a very detailed bio to be accepted and they must be active.
*You can have unlimited characters, but a limit of three from the movies/books. All must be active.
*Stick to your character's personality.
*Put all your charries in your signature, along with important details about them.
EX:: Aragorn//Man//Male//King of Gondor
COB- Dwarves: Rohan [Moria]
Elves: Rhovanion [Mirkwood or Rivendell]
Hobbits: Eriador [The Shire]
Man/Half-Elves: Anywhere [Men from Mordor would have a darker personality.]

Posting
*Do not, for any reason, post in a thread that is in the junkyard. If a thread was sent there by accident, tell an admin.
*Posts must be at least a full paragraph. Posts with only a few sentences will be deleted.
*Use spell check.
*Use proper grammar.
*Please use appropriate colors. No tough warrior would post in pink.
*Please use visible colors. If I can't read it, I won't try.
*Cursing is allowed, but please not frequently.

One-on-One
*You can be in any amount at any time.
*This does not affect the rest of the RPing world. [For instance, if in your thread Gondor and Rohan are fighting, then they aren't anywhere else.]
*Make sure the thread has your names on it. [EX::Snarky + Feather]
*Only two people can be involved in a one-on-one thread, but each person can use any amount of their characters.

Academy
*This place is only for people under twenty-one unless you work here.
*You will have a chosen profession to work on here, and will not dabble in others.
*You can be kicked out for unruly behavior.
*You can drop out, but then you will get a mark on your bio that says such and you will not have the amount of skill needed to fight, dance, or heal.
*Teachers have authority over students. Don't argue.

Mating?
*Yes, you can have children. Please, no graphic posting.
*A bio must be decided between the parents.
*No more than twins. Therefore, no triplets or anything higher.
*The child must stay with his/her mother. If there is no mother, than the child will stay in his/her mother's birthplace.

Kingdoms
*If there is currently no king, then you may take the position without hassle.
*Do not expect to just run in and speak to the king. Post first that you are waiting at the castle doors, and a guard will reply and decide whether or not he lets you in.
*Yes. You can complain to the king of your country, but that doesn't mean he has to do something about it.
*Yes. Your king can punish you. Yes, he should have a reason, but not necessarily.
*And yes. Evil or mean kings can be uprooted if his people unite against him. In that case, his son/daughter will take over. If there isn't one, the people will vote on a new ruler.

Quests
*If you want service from a blacksmith or other employee, they may ask you to repay them by doing them a favor.
*They will send you on quests, which you cannot complete alone. [Look for a partner in the board made for this.]
*Be prepared to fight for the prize, or negotiate for the ends they want met before you get your end of the bargain.

Random Attacks
*Just out walking with your friends? Hope you're armed, because admins can attack at random as any type of enemy they want.
EXPECT:: Attacks from orcs, goblins, urk-hai, wargs, and others.

War/Battles
*Of course there will be battling.
*You must present a valid reason.
*Turn posting is required.
EX:: Elf A, Dwarf A. Elf B, Dwarf B.
*Yes, you can be killed.
*Again, no god-moding.
EX::Player A swung his axe, aiming for the head of the enemy.
BAD EX::Player A swung his axe, hitting his enemy in the head and killing them.
*You must give them a chance to dodge.
*You cannot dodge every attack. No person will go through a battle unscratched.
*No, females cannot fight.
Can they try and hide their identity, like Eowyn? -Of course, but they can also be caught and punished accordingly.
*If you are an entertainer, you cannot fight.
